Home Networking

Do you have more than one computer in your home?  Do family members  sometimes compete for the Internet connection?  Do you wish that every PC in your home had Internet access?  If so, you would benefit from Home Networking.  If all the PCs in your home were connected with a home network, you could:

  • Share a single printer between computers
  • Use a single Internet connection
  • Share files such as images, spreadsheets and documents
  • Play games that allow multiple users at different computers
  • Send the output of a device like a DVD player or Webcam to your other computer(s)

Today, there are several technologies available to create your home network.

  1. Run Cat 5 cables through your walls to create a hard-wired network.
  2. Run Cat 5 cables across the floor to connect computers in the same room.
  3. Connect your computers through your household electrical wiring, known as Power Line Networking.  Data rates are not as fast as with Cat 5 but it is a viable solution in some cases.
  4. Connect your computers together through your home's telephone wiring. This is known as Phone Line Networking.
  5. Connect your PCs through radio waves, known as wireless networking.

AirPower's certified technicians are qualified to evaluate your situation, and recommend a solution that fits your needs and your budget.

We can then implement, install, and support your home network.
